Do you think an apology is appropriate in this situation?
There is this girl who has had feelings for my boyfriend for a long time. She did minor acts that made me upset and caused me to pretty much hate her guts. She only ever did one thing completely unacceptable; at a party, while intoxicated, she admitted her feelings for my boyfriend to everyone and told him to his face that she "loved him so much." I know that my boyfriend is staying with me and he has zero interest in her but it just made me so angry to watch this girl try and get with him. I've done some thinking and honestly, I'm not going to give a flying **** in three years about this whole situation, so why don't I end it nicely? I am thinking that I will pull her aside next time I see her and say a little something like, "(name), I understand that we haven't been on good terms but I don't like having conflicts with people, especially when they're unnecessary. You may have had feelings for my boyfriend but I'm willing to look past that and forget that ever happened. I'm not saying we have to be friends, but I don't want us both to have to feel awkward next time we see each other in public. I ask if you accept what I'm saying and we can move on." ....Does that sound ok?
