The horse should be no problem about your weight I kno 230 pound muscled type guys that ride little 13.1 hand horses so I really think he wont be a problem! If he's green that means he is knew to riding and is a hard head stubborn and more. As in type of feed choose something that is for young horses and help their joints function correctly. The gps saddle with the changeable gullet means the wither area( neck bone connected to back bone) high point of the back is where the saddle as he grows will adjust to his withers so I doesn't cause pain and help your saddle fit you too:) hope this helps:) and you are not stupid I was at that point too:)
