Basic Training alcohol Barrier?

I leave for Basic training in 2 weeks, just wondering if anyone else with experience can tell me, how would I be viewed? I know ill be asked by someone to go out for a drink, as I have been before (hishschool, and uni). I just simply do not want to, its not just for a religious reason, its just that I don't see why I would intoxicate myself. I don't want to have to justify myself to people that I don't drink. If I'm out and choose to drink water will they leave it at that? I know this will be a major social barrier on my part, how will I be viewed, or how should I go about to refuse a drink if asked by a fellow friend while as Basics, in the army in general?
